We’re thrilled to invite you to our Annual General Meeting in Kimberley and Field Tour in the surrounding East Kootenays. This carefully curated two-day event brings together conservation professionals, stakeholders, and grassland enthusiasts for meaningful discussions and immersive field experiences in our special grassland ecosystems.
Event Details
Day 1 – April 30: AGM & Evening Program
Location: The Biscuit (180 Spokane St. Kimberley)
Schedule:
- 5:00 PM – Casual dinner buffet
- 6:00 PM – GCC Annual General Meeting (virtual attendance option available)
- 8:00 PM – Special discussion session: Current and Future Grassland Projects in the East Kootenays
Day 2 – May 1: Field Tours in Wycliffe Conservation Corridor
Time: 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Field Tour Highlights:
- Exploration of the Wycliffe Wildlife Corridor – Learn about this crucial habitat connectivity zone
- St. Mary’s Prairie visit – Deep dive into ecosystem restoration and cultural burning practices
- Peckham’s Range Unit – Examination of integrated land management approaches
