The Grasslands Conservation Council of BC is excited to announce the launch of our Grasslands Discovery Box for Early Learners—now available to borrow in Kamloops!

This hands-on resource is designed to help young children explore the beauty and importance of grasslands through play and discovery. Inside, you’ll find materials and activities that inspire wonder, spark creativity, and help young learners develop a sense of belonging and care for these rare and sensitive ecosystems.

What’s Inside the Box

  • Explanations of key ecological concepts about grasslands, with accompanying explanations appropriate for early learners
  • A variety of suggested activities
  • Suggestions for extending learning beyond this box
  • Colouring pages

How to Borrow the Discovery Box

The Grasslands Discovery Box for Early Learners is available to borrow at the YMCA Kamloops Child Care Resource and Referral Centre (CCRR), located at the John Tod Centre:
