Call for Expressions of Interest
The Grasslands Conservation Council of British Columbia (GCC) is a non-profit organization led by a volunteer working Board of Directors. The Board is elected from the Membership, by the Membership, to provide governance, oversight and leadership for the GCC.
Current Board of Directors
We are looking for people with a passion for the wise stewardship and conservation of grasslands in British Columbia and a willingness to roll up their sleeves and help the GCC in achieving our strategic objectives. The mission of the GCC is to:
- Foster greater understanding and appreciation for the ecological, social, economic, and cultural importance of grasslands throughout BC;
- Promote stewardship and sustainable management practices that will ensure the long-term health of BC’s grasslands; and,
- Promote the conservation of representative grasslands ecosystems, species at risk and their habitats.
We are seeking expressions of interest to fill 2 Director (2 year term) positions on our eleven member Board, from which we will elect two Board members to fill two Officer positions up for election this year: Chair (2 year term); Treasurer (2 year term).

Elections will be held on Friday, June 21, 2019 in Summerland, BC at the GCC Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Elected directors and officers will take office at the first Board meeting following the AGM.
Expressions of Interest must include:
- A cover letter expressing the applicant’s interest in the GCC and BC grasslands;
- A short biography
- A brief resume of education and experience
The primary qualities we seek are a passion for BC’s grasslands and the willingness to actively work on the Board and GCC projects. Time commitment expectations are in the order of 2 to 3 days per month. In addition, we are seeking candidates from throughout BC’s grasslands regions who bring expertise in financial administration, fundraising, and public communications.

April 15 Deadline for expressions of interest
April 15 – April 24 Review expressions of interest
April 24 – May 20 Board review and endorsement of a slate of candidates for election
June 21 Election of directors and officers at the AGM
